It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lannie Hearel Ray, a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 16, 2025.
Born on May 14th , 1929, in Corinth, MS, she moved to Memphis as a young woman where she met and married Conard Ray. They were married 64 years until his death in 2()14. Lannie was a woman of deep faith, and a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. She most recently attended Olive Branch Church of Christ. She was the proud mother of four boys, whom she raised with strength, wisdom, love and lots of prayer. Her home was a place of warmth, where her wonderful homemade cooking created lasting memories for many years.
Lannie was a homemaker most of her life but loved setting up a booth with Conard at the flea market at the Mid-South Fairgrounds, on the weekends during the 70s and 80s. She also loved buying and selling antiques and in her later years she was a part-time estate sale organizer, which she really enjoyed. Lannie was a "people person" but would also let you know exactly what she was thinking...good or bad. Lannie was a meticulous housekeeper and seamstress. She had a gift for creating beauty with her hands-every stitch a reflection of the care she put into everything she did.
Above all she will be remembered for her love and devotion to her family and faith. Her legacy lives on through the family she cherished and the lives she touched.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Conard H. Ray; eldest son, Conard E. Ray; her parents and seven siblings. She is survived by three sons Tommy (Susan), Keith and Don (Mary), daughter in law Debbie Ray and Grandchildren: Angie (Carl) Amanda (Daniel) Jeremy (Krystal) Corey (Hayley) Kelly, Emily (Cory) Josh, Abby as well as eight great-grandchildren.
