He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Collier.
Joe is survived by his children, Alan Collier (Mary Jean), Janice Collier and his sisters, Betty Jean Zachary, and Julia Roach (John).

Joe was born in Crenshaw, MS to Virginia and John Claude he was one of ten children.
Joe served 18 months in the United States Coast Guard on the USS Wakefield. He worked 41 years at the Naval Air Station in Millington, TN.
Joe and Nancy settled in the Frayser community where they raised two children. Joe enjoyed fishing, gardening and especially growing roses. He was a faithful disciple of our Lord volunteering his time in church activities that spread the gospel. In later years Joe found himself a home at Kirby Pines where he continued with his passions of growing roses. He was affectionately known as “The Rose Man”
Joe was a faithful husband, father, brother, uncle and friend to all. We are all enriched by his kindness.
