He was preceded in death by his father. His mother passed away on Monday, January 10, 2022.
Jim is survived by his wife of 46 years Becky M. Propst; children Jonathan L. Props (Amanda), J. Whitney Propst, R. Catherine Propst, Hudson T. Propst; grandchildren; Avery, Henry, Emma, and Claire.
He graduated from Rockingham High School in Rockingham, North Carolina and Pembroke State University (UNC-Pembroke). He was the owner of Electrical Assoc., Inc., where he worked with his 2 sons and daughter. He loved the business because of all the wonderful people he was able to meet and build friendships. He loved the Lord and was always excited to study and share His word. He was a charter Member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Collierville, TN. His greatest joy was serving as a Sunday school teacher in churches where he attended. At his death he was the teacher for the Kingdom Seekers’ class at Ellendale Baptist Church, Bartlett, TN. He loved his family deeply and always sought to have them seek and love the Lord. Jim was excitedly anticipating the arrival of his 5the grandchild this spring.
A gathering of family and friends for James will be held Friday, January 14, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Ellendale Baptist Church, 3861 Broadway Road, Bartlett, Tennessee 38135. A celebration of life service will occur Friday, January 14, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM, 3861 Broadway Road, Bartlett, Tennessee 38135. A graveside service will occur Friday, January 14, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 12:15 PM at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, Tennessee 38133.
