James “JJ” Harold Harper, II, 64, of Jackson, Tennessee, passed away on October 16, 2024. Born on December 22, 1959, in Memphis, Tennessee, he was the son of the late James and Theresa Harper. JJ was preceded in death by his brother.
A devoted member of Bellevue Baptist Church, JJ had a zest for life and was always on the go. He loved to travel, seeking experiences over material possessions, and had a particular passion for roller coasters. Known affectionately as "Joggin JJ" to his grandchildren, he cherished every moment spent playing with them. JJ also enjoyed going on cruises and was renowned for being the best griller, especially when it came to steaks.
He is survived by his loving wife, Tori Harper; his children, Jackie McLean (Doug), Amanda Jones (Hunter), Paige Landers, and Christian Lindsey (Ann Laura); and eight cherished grandchildren who will remember him fondly.
In honor of JJ's memory, memorial contributions may be made to the West Cancer Foundation.
Family and friends are invited to gather from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 26, at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, located at 3700 N. Germantown Rd, Bartlett, TN. A memorial service will follow at 10:00 AM.
JJ went on his final adventure and will be missed dearly by his loving family and friends.
