Dr. HAROLD CLEMENT MURRELL SR., of Atoka, TN and formerly of Memphis, TN passed from this life on March 25, 2015. He was of the Methodist faith. Dr. Murrell was a Korean War veteran who served in the U. S. Navy. After his military service, Dr. Murrell graduated from the University of Tennessee, College of Pharmacy where he went on to serve as a reserve officer in the U.S. Public Health Service, a board member for the Visiting Nurses Association and President of the Tennessee Society of Hospital Pharmacist. Dr. Murrell was also a teaching faculty member of the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy and Baptist School of Nursing. Dr. Murrell retired from the Baptist Memorial Hospital after a 30 year career of serving in a variety of Pharmaceutical and Administrative roles. Dr. Murrell was also an avid nature conservationist and animal lover. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles Elbert Murrell Sr. and Sadie Clement Murrell, his brother Dr. Charles Elbert Murrell Jr., and sister, Carroll Murrell Poole. Dr. Murrell is survived by his wife of sixty three years: Ladene Pittman Murrell, sons: Harold Clement Murrell Jr. and Charles Brian Murrell (Kimberly) and three grandchildren: Joshua Aaron Murrell, Landon James Murrell and Jordan Nichole Murrell. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 30 from Noon to 2 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home on Germantown Rd. with services immediately following. Interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery in Collierville.
