Gwynne’s love for football continued throughout his lifetime cheering on the Mississippi State Bulldogs, Dallas Cowboys, or in the stands on Friday night. They married in June of 1967 and their only daughter was born on Mother's Day 1968.The had moved to Memphis where he found his calling in sales. He worked for several printing companies in town over the years and designed and created business forms for big businesses such as NBC Bank and St. Francis Hospital. Eventually Dick started his own printing company which was very successful for many years. In his 2nd or 3rd career life... Dick went to work for Harrah's Casino in Tunica, MS. He thoroughly enjoyed the hustle and bustle of the casino floor and despite the drive, he never complained. He continued to work for Harrah's until he needed to stay home to help take care of his wife, who was battling Alzheimer’s. After Jo Ann passed away, Dick stayed busy a few years by working a part time job. He also helped his daughter and husband with their boys and was always available for any pickup or drop off needed. As his grandboys were growing up, he rarely missed one of their golf matches or football games. His grandboys were not only his grandkids, but his buddies. They went out to eat regularly, attended football games together and worked on their fantasy football teams together every season.
Dick could be found at the Waffle House for breakfast almost every morning, drinking coffee every afternoon at Panera Bread with his friends, and by evening, he could be found in his recliner watching Westerns.
