Gene Quarles

Francis "Gene" Quarles, 89, Cordova, Tennessee passed away of dementia at home on October 27, 2022.

He was born to the late Willie and Lillian Quarles on May 4, 1933 in Sarepta, Mississippi. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nell Quarles of 68 years, granddaughter, Lindsey Chrestman and 4 brothers.

Gene served in the Army at Fort Polk, Louisiana. During this time he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.

He was a long-time member of West Heights Baptist Church in Pontotoc, Mississippi and attended Bellevue Baptist Church, Cordova since moving to the area.

Gene is survived by his daughters, Pam Chrestman and Pat Poindexter (Roger), his grandchildren, Morgan and Ryan Poindexter, his two sisters: Dorothy Maxey and Jewell Holley, and many nieces and nephews.

A service honoring the life of Gene Quarles is Sunday, October 30 at 2:00, with the visitation at 12:30 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens on Germantown Parkway. He will be buried next to his wife and granddaughter
