Elizabeth (Beth), a lifelong Memphian, was born to Elizabeth Willy Lamb and Thomas A. Lamb Jr. on June 15, 1937. She is survived by her brother, Milton Lamb of Germantown TN, and her sister, Martha McCullough of Brandon, Mississippi and many nephews, nieces, and friends who will deeply miss her presence. Beth was a long-time resident of Fairway Towers in Memphis where she had purchased a home in 1975 and lived until her recent illness. Beth is a graduate of East High School in Memphis, where she graduated with honors. She furthered her education at Wheaton College in Wheaton, IL where she graduated in 1959.Upon completing her studies, she embarked on her professional career at Delta Airlines offices in Memphis. When the Briarcrest School System was founded, she was recruited to serve in the financial office where she devoted over 15 years. Beth continued her work in the finance offices of several organizations in the Memphis area, including International Paper and Mueller Industries, until her retirement. A person of deep Christian faith, Beth was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church where she worshipped and served for many years before joining Second Presbyterian Church. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and providing her with strength. Beth had a zest for life and a love for travel. She cherished the vacations she spent exploring new places with her friends and family, from San Francisco and New York to the historic charm of Paris and Lucerne. She had a special love for the holidays, her family and friends always were excited to see what decorations and presents (where her unique wrappings were her trademark), she came up with. At family gatherings Beth was always the one for good conversation, an understanding attitude, and genuine interest in their lives. Beth’s legacy is one of love, service, and unwavering dedication to her family, friends, and church. She will be remembered for her warm heart, steadfast spirit, and the joy she brought into the lives of those who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace.
