Elaine Bryant Martin

Dorothy Elaine Bryant Martin, 89, of Memphis, TN passed away on August 14, 2023. She was born February 2, 1934, in Lawrenceburg, TN to Joe and Hattie Bryant and had five siblings. Elaine was strong in her faith and loved her family.

She was married to Harold Martin for 52 years and they had 3 children, Debra (Jerry) Sisson, Kathy (Jon) Schrack, and Keith Martin. She has 8 beautiful grandchildren: Jennifer Sisson (Michael West), Elizabeth Sisson Martin (Alex), Lydia Sisson Farmer (Austin), Allan Sisson (Brett), Jonathan Schrack (Victoria), Andrew Schrack (Alexandria), Melanie Schrack Jansing (Justin), and Lauren Martin Schneider (Ryan). She has eight great-grandchildren: Anthony West, Mary West, MacKenzie Elaine Sisson-Jerkins, Connor Sisson-West, Caden Martin, Reese Martin, Camden Farmer, Mila Farmer, and more to come!

She graduated from Lawrence County High School, attended Florence State College, and graduated from University of Tennessee - Knoxville. She loved cooking, sewing, and gardening; and taking care of her family. She was a substitute teacher and taught driver’s education with the Memphis City Schools. She was much loved and will be greatly missed but there is comfort in knowing that she is in Jesus’s arms and rejoicing with her loved ones in heaven.
