Douglas Dean Callahan

Douglas Dean Callahan, of Bartlett Tennessee, was called home by his heavenly father May 28th 2021. He was born in Porterville, CA . August 31,1951. Doug was a graduate of Porterville High School in 1970 and received his BS from Cal Poly at San Luis Obispo, CA. in 1974. He was a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity and a member of 2nd Presbyterian Church in Memphis. He was married 46 years to the Love his life,

Jeanie, who he met when he was 16. Doug was preceded in death by his parents Glenn H. Callahan and Josephine Callahan and a sister Patricia (Callahan) Dunn. Doug was survived by his wife Jean (Bartlett) Callahan, a sister Janet (Callahan) Chrinchlow of Oregon, and a brother Glenn Callahan of California. Doug has 2 daughters, Stephanie (Callahan) Helbling of Holly Springs, NC and Natalie (Callahan) Myers of New Orleans, LA. Four Grandchildren Elise, Cade, and Declan Helbling and James Grandy Myers II. There will be a private graveside burial at the Memphis Memorial Cemetery on Germantown Road. A Memorial celebration will be held on June 29th at the 2nd Presbyterian Church, 4055 Poplar Ave., Memphis, TN 38111 with visiting in the Salmon Room from 12pm-1 pm and the Memorial Service in the adjacent Chapel from 1pm-2pm. Doug will be greatly missed and always remembered by his family and many friends. Doug never met a person that did not receive his kind smile and warm greeting.
