Deborah Althea Clark, 69, entered the Lord’s presence on Thursday, February 17, 2022. She was born on August 2,1952 in Memphis, Tenn. She had one older sibling and three younger siblings and always maintained a close relationship with them. She was a graduate of Kingsbury High School and attended Memphis State University and Christian Brothers University. She worked as the office manager for Memphis Electronics, Inc. for four years before beginning her career with FedEx in 1984.
While at FedEx, Deborah served as secretary for Flight Crew Operations, Senior Crew Records Specialist, Senior Flight Training Scheduler and Senior Flight Operation Specialist. She was dedicated to her work and was always available to happily serve “her pilots.” In 2015, she retired from FedEx and began part time childcare in her home. She loved each of “her babies” and the joy they brought her. She was a member of First Assembly of God where over the years, she sang in the choir and served in preschool Sunday school and the infant nursery. Most importantly, Deborah was a strong Christian and loved studying the Bible and praying.
While Deborah enjoyed her career, the joy of her life was her family. She was a beloved sister, wife, mother and Maw-Maw. Deborah married her husband, William “Ronnie” Clark on September 12, 1987. She adored her two sons, and when they were young, she attended every baseball game or other extra-curricular activity they were involved in. She prayed daily for her family and was proud to have raised sons who love and serve the Lord.
On February 17, Deborah joined her husband, Ronnie, in Heaven, along with her parents, James and Elizabeth Stevens. What a glorious reunion it was!
She is survived by her sisters Joyce (Allan) Enerson of Bartlett, Tenn.; Cathy Stevens of Memphis, Tenn.; Teresa (Stan) Dodson of Collierville, Tenn.; her brother Ron (Ann) Stevens of Collierville, Tenn.; her sons Zachary (Catherine) Clark of Memphis, Tenn.; Kevin (Natalie) Clark of Round Rock, Texas; her granddaughter Emma Clark of Memphis, Tenn.; and two grandsons Hudson and Elliot Clark of Round Rock, Texas.
A service will be held on Sunday, February 27, 2022 at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens at 2:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 12:00 p.m. The family requests that memorials be given to Never Thirst at neverthirstwater.org.
