David Rainey, 56, passed away at his home on February 28, 2016. A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 3 at Memphis Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Road, Bartlett, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from noon until two o’clock, followed by a memorial service at two. Mr. Rainey was a graduate of Briarcrest High School and Memphis State University where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity, serving terms as Treasurer and President. David joined his father, Jay, at Rainey Commodities Brokerage Firm where they worked side-by-side for several years until Jay's retirement. He then became a founding partner and CEO of Consolidated Medical Staffing, operating branches in six locations across the southeast. He grew up boating on Pickwick Lake and always enjoyed annual lake trips with college friends. He also enjoyed playing golf several times each year, weather permitting. "DR" was renowned for his frugal spending habits and his laugh, but he will be best remembered for his integrity, and fair and honest approach to every situation, in business and in life. He is survived by his wife, Jenny (Rose) Rainey and his father, Jay Rainey of Bartlett; he was preceded in death by his mother, Jeanette Rainey, brothers Doug Rainey and Danny Rainey. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Memphis Humane Society or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Online condolences may be expressed at www.memphisfuneralhome.net.
