Always gently ministering to those around him, he was a member of Collierville First Baptist Church. His knowledge about the Bible was deep and his insight was wise.
He was born in Rome, Ga. in 1962 and grew up in Southaven, Miss. Bruce graduated from Mid-South Bible College, then Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary. He was admired by his many colleagues, working 34 years at FedEx. He enjoyed traveling, playing games, and — most of all — spending time with his family.
Bruce’s faith permeated every aspect of his life; he put love above all. His legacy is his faithful love of God, love of family, love of neighbor.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 31 years, Chantel Payne; their sons David (Anna) Payne and Daniel Payne; his parents, Shelvia and Jerry Payne; and his brother, Donny Payne.
