D.C. was born on February 5, 1938 in San Antonio, TX to J.D. and Mary Louise (Hemphill) Cobb.
He received his Bachelor's degree in chemistry from Baylor University of Texas in 1960. He fulfilled his military obligations in the Army as a medic at Fort Sam Houston in Texas.
On December 24, 1961, he married Nancy Gail Martin. They raised two sons, Bryan and Loren.
In Memphis he worked for Humko (Witco) as Manager of the chemical laboratory. He returned to school and graduated with a Masters Degree in Business Management. He was promoted to Vice President prior to retirement in 1998.
D.C. returned to school at the Memphis Theological Seminary and received his Masters in Divinity in December 2000. He accepted a Pastor's position at Speedway Terrace Baptist Church in 2001 and lead the church for 3 years.
D.C. had a passion for fishing and golf. He enjoyed traveling with Gail, and traveling with the church outreach programs ministering to people in multiple countries.
D.C. was preceded in death by his wife Gail (Martin) Cobb. He is survived by his sons Bryan Alan Cobb and Loren David Cobb, 2 grandchildren Brittney Alanna (Robert) Lucka and Kristina (Brent) Jones.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 11th, 2020 at Faith Baptist Church on Germantown Parkway at 2:30pm. Visitation is at 1:30pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital of Memphis, Tn. may be sent in his name.
