Clediar Eva Nell Richardson Ballard, age 94, of Bartlett, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2021. She was born June 28, 1926 to Marvin and Myrtle Richardson of Alamo, TN who both preceded her in death; also her oldest sisters, Marvina Evans, Sallie Lou Bell, Rosalyn James and her brother Paul Richardson.
Clediar was raised in Alamo, TN, and was active in the Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Alamo High School at the age of 16. Clediar was a cheer leader for three years, a band Majorite, for two years. She was elected beauty queen. She was active in many drama productions and leader of her class. Mrs. Ballard was a retiree of Blue Cross Blue Shield and also Gap.
Clediar later joined the Baptist Faith and was a faithful member for over sixty-eight years; the last at Calvary Baptist Church, Bartlett where she taught the Wisdom Sunday School Class for over fourteen years. She was very strong in her faith and in her Lord and Savior.
She is survived by her sons; Eugene Ballard and his wife Diane, Rich and his late wife Sharolyn, three granddaughters, five great grandchildren, one sister, Jewel Jones.
The family will receive friends from 1pm with a funeral service to follow at 2pm, on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, with interment to follow, at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133.
