A dear friend gave a gift to the American Diabetes Association in honor of Charles Embry.

I will always remember his quiet, calm, loving manner.  He would have given the shirt off of his back if asked and in many figurative ways he did.  When you looked at Uncle Charles, you saw Christ living in him.  My love and respect to Kelly, Daina and Scott as you carry on his legacy.

There isn't much that I can say that hasn't been said by everyone else. You were an incredible, caring, passionate person, and an absolutely incredible Grandpa. I cannot imagine how our family could have made it through some of the toughest years without you there to help guide the way. you were there for every major milestone in all of our lives, and I have no doubts that in some way, shape, or form, you will be there for the rest of them. I can never thank you enough for what you have done for me personally and everyone else around you. no matter how hard everyone tries, and no matter how beautiful their words, no one could every truly express just how much you meant to all of us and how important you were.

I just want you to know, you meant the world to me. Only a heart as dear as yours would give so unselfishly. The many things you've done, all the times that you were there helped me know deep down inside how much you really cared. I should have said it more, I appreciated all that you did. I'm truly blessed to have had a Grandpa like you.

As much as I'm am going to miss you, I know that God has a bigger plan for you. I will remember you each and everyday. I pray that you will watch over my little men, help them make wise choices and grow into men you can be proud of. I couldn't pick a better man to guide my children from Heaven than you. Words cannot describe how much I will miss you.  An incredible man you were. One of my greatest joys, and now my deepest loss.

My Dad

My Dad was really special,
he was a wonderful man.
He loved all those around him,
he gave a helping hand.

He was always seen smiling,
with a big grin on his face.
He didn't meet a stranger,
he loved the human race.

He gave his time and talents,
and money he gave too.
He wanted to help his neighbor,
because it was right to do.

He loved his country music,
and his sport's teams were the best.
He loved watching his "Castle",
his devotion passed the test.

His family meant the most to him,
he was proud but humble too.
He loved to watch them work and play,
and encouraged them to do.

He will be missed for who he was,
he never had a foe.
He made a difference int his world,
and God had blessed him so.

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital received 2 gifts in honor of Charles Embry and Daina Aldrich.  These gifts will allow St. Jude to continue to bring hope to so many families.

A donation was made by the Bellevue Woods Coffee Group in honor of Chuck to St. Jude.  This gift will bring hope to the children of St. Jude today, tomorrow and beyond.

A donation was made in loving memory by the St. Paul UMC Staff to the American Diabetes Association.

My father was the best example of a caring, geneorus, loving, supportive, dedicated, independent, loyal person I knew or will ever hope to know.  He leaves a legacy that will be difficult to live up to.  My hope is that I can be even a fraction of the person he  was.  He was loved by many.  I consider myself blessed to have had him as a father.  It is my wish that I have raised my children and influence my grandchildren to be the best that they can be to make him proud.  I know that he will be guiding all of us as we continue in our lives.  I have now coined the phrase "WWCD".  What would Chuck do? I will miss my father greatly.  No more Thursday night calls.  No more discussions about Castle.  No more debates about the Bachelor or Bachlerette.  No more holding his hand nor screaming through the phone so he could hear me. But what I do have is the peace I have that he is in heaven looking down on all of us.  That he has no more challenges pysically and he is with his mother, father, sister and brother that all went before him.  I still cry at my loss but I know he wouldn't want that so I try and turn to the joy of a new grandson, his name sake, Brooks Everett.  One of my loves of my life leaves and one arrives. So is the cycle of life and I know Dad wouldn't have any other way.  Until we hug again. Your loving daughter.

Dear Embry Family
We have been so blessed to have known Grandpa Chuck.  We will always remember his smiling face!  Thank you for sharing him with our family.  We love you.  He was the BEST patient too!

We loved how Grandpa Chuck was always smiling.  We loved waving as we drove past Bellevue Woods and say hi when we pass.  He will be loved and missed very much.  Love

Grandpa Chuck  came to my highschool soccer game and lost his glasses in the parking lot.  I loved that he came to watch and cheer.  Love

When I think of your dad I recall his smile and his unconditional love he had for his children and grandchildren and of course his unwavering loyalty of a sports fan!  You are all in my prayers.

Chuck meant alot to our family, more than words can say...We loved him so much.

Uncle Charles was the best person in our family.  Words can not express how much he meant to our family.  We loved him very much.  He will be greatly missed.

"Grandpa Chuck" wave to Grandpa Chuck, the girls and I will continue to wave to Grandpa Chuck as we drive by his house.  In the years we have gotten to know Grandpa Chuck.... he was fun, intelligent and kind.  I love that he always had a smile and something to talk with you about.  It meant so much that he came to see michael play soccer....even though he lost another pair of glasses.  He was my "Criminal Minds" buddy.  He will be missed and forever remembered.

Chuck always had a diabetic cake when we had pot luck at Bellevue Woods.  It was a good cake and I enjoyed it.

Chuck was a very nice man we will mis him especially in the excercise room.  We could listen to his country music.

When I think of "Grandpa Chuck" I think of his giving heart!  I also think of how involved he was in his kids and grandkids lives.  A funny memory I have is Madi telling him "you have mud on your teeth."

Chuck helped in the kitchen when ever a project was taking place.  He was a great help to me and will be greatly missed.

I have so many fond memories of Charles from the time he was born.  The braces he wore on his legs, the playing of church with the neighborhood kids on our front steps, the gift for me on Christmas after Mother died.  It goes on and on.  I was lucky to have him as my brother.

Simply said, Chuck was the best man I every knew!

March 18, 2014 was a very sad day for me. Words can't express all the emotions I have been feeling. You were truly the greatest grandfather and the best friend. I will miss you dearly! I lost a grandfather that day, but I gained an angel. I love you Papaw and you will forever be in my heart!

Dear Family, 
Chuck was my dearest friend.  He was a very thoughtful, compassionate man, always thinking and caring for the other person.  "Have a nice day" was his slogan when anyone said goodbye for the day.  He was proud of his children, grandkids and his family.  He raised his children to understand life and be independent.  I will miss him forever and I know he is flying with gifted angels and singing with country and western doves in heaven.
