Charles Jerrad Cowan Sr., 79, of Cordova, passed away on Wednesday October 2, 2013. He was preceded in death by his sister Judy Gould. Mr. Cowan is survived by his loving wife of 20 years Dorothy S. Cowan, sons Charles Jerrad Cowan Jr., Michael James Cowan, and Philip Alan Cowan, nine grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, a brother Jimmy Cowan and a sister Jeanine Dawson. Mr. Cowan was a Navy veteran, longtime Mason and Shriner, and had worked for Shelby County Sherriff Rescue at one time. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Friday at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd. There will be a Celebration of Life service on Saturday at 2pm also at the funeral home. Burial will be at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
