Carolyn Jean Coleman of Bartlett, Tn, 79, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2023. Carolyn was born on June 1, 1943 in Canonsburg, PA. She and her family moved from Pennsylvania to Marion, Arkansas in 1960 and then to Springfield, Missouri in 1962. She graduated high school from Marion High School and then attended Draughon Business College.
In 1964, she started working as the switchboard operator and receptionist at Evangel College where she met the love of her life, Jack. Jack’s dorm mother introduced them at Heritage Cafeteria in Springfield, MO. It was certainly “Love at first sight”. She and Jack married on June 10, 1967 and celebrated more than 55 years of marriage.
She worked as a dental assistant, Mother’s Day Out, and full-time homemaker. She stayed home to raise her two boys. She was an active mom that attended all of her sons’ school and sporting events. She and Jack loved working in the yard and were very proud to be chosen as “Bartlett Yard of the Month” two times.
Carolyn was a dedicated member, choir member, Sunday school teacher and secretary at First Assembly of God Memphis.
Carolyn leaves her two sons, Bradley (Marcia) Coleman of Arlington, TN and Dr. Jason Coleman of Germantown, TN, and her sister Joyce Williams (Larry) of Springfield, MO. “Ma” will be greatly missed by her three grandchildren, Taylor, Drew (Felicia) and Hannah Coleman.
A celebration of life service will be held at First Assembly of God Memphis, 8650 Walnut Grove, Cordova, TN 38018 on Thursday, February 23, 2023. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM with Service at 1:00 PM. A graveside service will be held following the service at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to First Assembly of God for Speed the Light Missions.
Carolyn was a loving mother who dedicated her life wholeheartedly to serving The Lord and her family.
