Carol Brown Purvis, 66, of Cordova, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2015, at Methodist Hospital Germantown. She was a retired registered nurse, having worked in the ICU departments of Baptist Central and Methodist University hospitals. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Coley Purvis, and her father, Fredrick Brown. She leaves her four daughters, Theresa Purvis (Betty Jo Dulaney) of Germantown, Kelvie Montgomery of Orlando, FL, Stacy Fleming (Danny) of Bartlett, and Bethany Randa of Kansas City, KS. She has five grandsons, Jacob and Justin Randa, Skylar and Stetson Fleming, and William Dulaney. She also leaves her mother, Jean Smith, and three brothers, David Brown (Doris), Robert Smith, and Dell Smith (Lisa), and a host of friends and associates of Jehovah’s Witnesses. The family will receive friends Sunday, February 1 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd. Funeral services will be at the funeral home on Monday, February 2 at 2:00 p.m., with interment to follow in Memphis Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial gifts be made to the Memphis Humane Society.
