Carol was born in Pana, IL on April 15, 1948 to Paul and Avis Lee. She was a vibrant, classy, beautiful woman who lived life to the fullest. As a young adult, she had a successful photography business in Effingham, IL before moving to Memphis, TN and founding one of the original and the longest running independent Elvis Presley souvenir shops, which helped to shape the Elvis industry into what it is today. Most recently, she worked for The Medical Group with BMG as Operations Coordinator. She loved her church, Calvary Church of the Nazarene, where she was an active member for over 35 years. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend and will be greatly missed by countless people all over the world.
Carol is survived by her daughter, Ashleigh Mullens Crosby (Gary); former spouse, James Light; step-sons, Darrin Light (Danette), Chris Light (Nikki), and James Light, Jr. (Kathy); grandchildren, Alexandra Crosby, Riley Light, Ayla Light, Tristan Light, Hunter Light, and Cody Light; siblings, Marge Wooden, Paul Lee, Jr; and many nieces, nephews and loved ones. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd., Bartlett, TN. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Calvary Church of the Nazarene, 1851 N. Houston Levee, Cordova, TN with the interment to follow at Memorial Gardens-Bartlett, TN. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Calvary Church of the Nazarene.
