Brenda Elizabeth Harkness passed Away on Thursday May 25, 2023. Brenda was born April 14, 1958 at St. Joseph Hospital in Memphis Tennessee. She was raised on Pleasant Ridge Road in Arlington, Tennessee along with her siblings Raymond “Lewis” Marshall, and Anita Lorraine Wathen.
Brenda is survived by her husband, Steve Harkness, their son, S. Chad Harkness (Mindi), and
grandson, S. Cade Harkness. She is the daughter of Richard A. Marshall (Kathleen J. Marshall)
and Vader L. Oswalt (W. Neil Oswalt). Brenda is preceded in death by her Father, Richard Alexander Marshall.
Brenda E. Harkness will be remembered for her sweet spirit and her kindness. Brenda was devoted to her family and was happiest spending time with Steve, Chad, Mindi, and Cade. Steve and Brenda were high school sweethearts and both graduated from Bolton High School. They were happily married for 47 years. Her infectious smile and laughter will be missed by family and friends. Brenda had a child-like joy for life, enjoyed trips to the Memphis Zoo with Cade, gardening, reading, and traveling with her husband, Steve.
A visitation will occur Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at 1:00 PM. Memorial Service will be held at 2:00
PM at Memphis Funeral Home- Bartlett, 3700 North Germantown Road, Bartlett, TN 38133. A
burial for Brenda E. Harkness will be held immediately following at Arlington Cemetery, 5837
Chester Street, Arlington, TN 38002.
