Tracy & Wendy, I didn't know your mom had passed until today. So sorry to have missed it.  Bonnie was a special lady. I know you both are missing her. I have 
moved to Southaven to be close to Carrie. I hope you both are doing well. I still love you both.

Bonnie and my mother, Glenda Dillard Miller, became lifelong friends in the 1970’s. The young, single, working mothers leaned on each other while raising daughters under difficult circumstances. I grew up with Wendy and Tracy on Wednesday evenings at El Chicos. Bonnie and my mom met every week for support and friendship. As young girls, we enjoyed our weekly enchilada treat, as women, we remember our mother’s examples of patience, love and courage. While these friends grew to be each other’s lifeline; the tall woman with the soft voice, and distinctive laugh became my Aunt Bonnie. Growing up, I was the beneficiary of pool parties, visits to flower shows, and many gifts: knitted, crocheted, and needlepointed. While in college, I began writing for the theatre and Aunt Bonnie made special trips to attend shows. Before I could make her introduction to the cast and crew she would step up and exclaim, “I’m the playwright’s Aunt Bonnie.” Often, she was the best character. Through the years, Bonnie was never far away. She loved my mother, and myself with years of visits, weekly phone calls, cards, gifts and numerous acts of kindness. Thank you for being a wonderful and dear, faithful friend to my mother.              We cherish you and your family. Godspeed, Aunt Bonnie.  

Sincere sympathy to you.  Bonnie was such a sweet person.  I was her caller for Fun Club and she was always so pleasant and we enjoyed talking about her family and her dogs.

In  1970 we moved from Oklahoma to Memphis with our job. We had three small children. 3-5 & 8.  God located us across the street from the Weir family. What a blessing!  A great love and friendship developed. About a year and half later we moved back to Oklahoma but that friendship never ended. They made many visits including 3 weddings and our 50th Anniversary. We made many trips also including a wedding. Her last trip to Oklahoma was only 2 months ago. What a wonderful time we had sharing her love. 
She was a jewel and we will miss her dearly. Thanks for the memories Miss Bonnie!

Bonnie and I went through school together.  I was so fortunate to call her my friend.  Bonnie was a truly GOOD person in every way.  She was beautiful  inside and out with the most wonderful smile,
and twinkling  blue eyes.  My life is filled with memories of this dear friend.  There is no telling
how many folks  she helped over her lifetime...only God would know.  I know she blessed my
life  and soul with her precious love.   Bonnie loved everyone and I certainly loved her.  I know
Heaven is a better place with her there.  She has been a Christian as long as I have known her.
I will miss you dear Bonnie, but, you will never be forgotten.
By the way...you took a great picture for your Going Home....but then, you always took a good pic.

Bonnie was one of the truly nice people. She was known for her kindness. I used to tell her she was so nice it made me sick. Luckily, I was one of the people she was so kind to. She did so many things for me over the past 45 years.  When she first met me, she didn’t like me. I was into women’s lib. She and another lady at work bet that I wouldn’t last 6 months. I was with the bank for 24 years. It wasn’t long before she became a friend. Many times after work, we would pick up Wendy, age 9 and Tracye, age 6 and head to Taco Bell. Then she would take me home. In those years, I learned embroidery by watching Bonnie. She taught me how to do a French knot. She has taken me to numerous medical procedures when I had to have a driver. She made me a party dress and hemmed numerous pairs of pants for me. She took my dad to the doctor once so I wouldn’t have to take off work. We would go Christmas shopping together in the middle of the night. I could go on and on. Our friendship had an ebb and flow to it, but we always seemed to sense when one needed the other.  Since I retired, we have become closer. She used to laugh that I was ‘driving Miss Daisy’ because I did most of the driving. I am now facing daily activities without her. I would call her to see if she wanted to go to recycle, to Walmart, and one of our favorite outings was going to Lowe’s to shop the dead plants. I’m betting right now that she has plants that she has bought and not planted.  My boys loved “Miss Barney”. She was once coming to dinner when the boys were little. I told them Miss Bonnie was coming and they exclaimed, “Miss Barney is coming.” Wouldn’t you know that when she arrived she had on a purple t-shirt. My heart is broken right now, as I know Wendy’s and Tracy’s hearts are broken. I will say this to Wendy and Tracy. If, when you are cleaning out her house, be assured that any frogs or turtles you find belong to me. I’m sure she bought them with me in mind, and forgot where she put them. 

I have so many fond memories of MS Bonnie!  She always made me feel like one of her girls. I vacationed with her, she bought me many dinners and  I slept at her house so much, that she gave me a key to her home!  My friendship with Tracye was so much more than that, they were and are family to me.  Ms. Bonnie would make me her Corn Fritters, she would laugh with us, cut up like one of the girls!  I have too many memories to share them all but I can tell you the Lord put her in my life or many reasons.  She never missed my son's birthday parties, she just attended his graduation party last month.  She had also RSVP's to my birthday party next week!!  She was a constant in my life since I met her 30 years ago.  When I was fighting Breast Cancer, she would come with Tracye  to sit with me during Chemo, bring me lunch and laugh the day away.  When I was scheduled for my mastectomy, Ms Bonnie was not asked to come, she showed up because that is who she was.  My own mother was held up and couldn't get to the hospital, and Ms Bonnie was my mama in that moment. She was calming, and spoke softly, she kept my mind off what what about to happen, and she made me forget and stop worrying.  I will never forget her selflessness, always giving, always loving everyone! She was a glass half full gal!  I loved her dearly!  She will be missed, but when I remember her, I will always remember her smile, her kindness and her unconditional love she gave!  She was one of the best ladies I've ever known!  I am a better person for knowing her!  I love you!!
