December 12, 1936 – April 13, 2025
Bobby Joe Webb, age 88, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, Bobby lived a life marked by love, service, and unwavering faith.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Carolyn Ann Webb. Their marriage was a testament to lasting love and commitment. He is survived by his children: Tim (Colleen) Webb and Glenn (Jeanine) Webb; his brother, Cecil (Grace) Webb; his grandchildren, Lynsey Fleeger, Josh (Jessica) Fleeger, Cody (Amanda) Webb, and Robert Webb; and his great-grandchildren, Easton and Luke — all of whom he adored and who brought him endless pride and joy.
Bobby was preceded in death by his daughter, Carol Webb Fleeger, his parents Luther and Clara Webb, and by his siblings: his twin sister Betty Webb, Montreal Webb, Herman Webb, Hugh “Dick” Webb (Evelyn), Juanita Farris (Ernest), J.T. Webb (Margaret), Nila Farris (Bufort), Richard “RL” Webb (Betty), and Mary Helen Ricossa (Frank).
Bobby was a standout football player at Southside High School who earned numerous accomplishments on the field. His skill and determination led to recruitment offers from Tulane University and the University of Alabama. But Bobby chose love over the spotlight, turning down those opportunities to marry his high school sweetheart, Carolyn — a decision he never once regretted.
He was a proud and dedicated public servant, retiring from the Memphis Fire Department, where he drove the fire truck and served with honor. After retirement, he continued his career driving 18-wheelers for multiple companies, always providing for his family with humility and strength.
Bobby was a longtime, faithful member of Germantown Baptist Church. He loved the Lord and lived his life as a kind, humble, and generous Christian man. He had a servant’s heart, always eager to help others, whether it was mowing a neighbor’s lawn, offering a word of encouragement, or quietly lending a hand to anyone in need.
He found joy in the simple things: working in the yard, Friday breakfast with his best friends, helping people, and cheering on Alabama football — especially when watching games with his granddaughter, Lynsey. His warmth, humor, and gentle spirit left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him.
Bobby Joe Webb will be deeply missed but forever remembered for the love he gave, the faith he lived, and the legacy he leaves behind.
