BOBBY LLOYD TUCKER, 62, of Cordova, passed away peacefully December 7, 2013 at his home. Mr. Tucker was a graduate of the University of Tennessee where he also played baseball. He was All SEC for four years at UT, an All American, All America Academics and was on the All Century team. Mr. Tucker was also inducted into the Memphis Amateur Sports Hall of Fame and represented the United States in the World Baseball Games in Nicaragua in 1972. He later signed with the White Sox organization and played in the Minor Leagues for three years. Mr. Tucker is survived by his loving wife, Diane Tucker; his son, Robby Tucker and his wife, Ashton Tucker; his mother, Mary Tucker; two sisters, Sandra Lewis (Roger) and Patricia McGregor; and one brother, Johnny Tucker. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 12-2 p.m. Wednesday, December 11, 2013 with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 2 p.m. all at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Pkwy., Bartlett. The family would like to extend special thanks to Amedysis Hospice for their care as well as Mr. Tucker’s two caregivers, Pat and Joyce.
