Betty Jane Loe was my best friend from elementary school through high school. She was kind and funny and I loved her so much.

I went to High School with Betty..we were close friends ,even after graduation,for a while.Then I moved away,married and lost contact. Wanted to reconnect this year,since I've retired,only to find this notice. Betty was a great friend..lots of laughs,a couple of terrible double dates,worked at the same place our senior year,spent lots of overnights at her house. She was my friend and I am sorry she is now gone.  Rest in peace Betty...we had fun.!💗


I knew Betty from working with her at UTCHS. I am so sorry to hear this news and hope that her family will find peace in knowing that she was well respected by her peers. As someone else said, she had a strong work ethic and got the job done. God bless her family.

I worked for Betty the last 10 years of my tenure at UTHSC in the Department of Surgery and was always amazed at her work ethic and how much she was able to accomplish directing six surgical departments on that campus.  We also became friends who shared our children and grandchildren adventures, accomplishments, and failures equally and was there when I lost my parents a year apart.  I never knew her to be ill during those ten years and this past year after her retirement I had spoken to her a couple of times but it was always about Alan and his family and Ray and my family and what we each had been doing since retirement.  I'm truly devastated about her loss and send my most heartfelt sympathies to Alan and his family.

I've known Betty for over 30+ years.  While we initially met at UTHSC in 1986 where we first became colleagues and she came to be one of my mentors, 
but much more importantly over the years, we became great close friends.  Betty was one of my dearest, long-term, closest friends, my confidant and my "sounding-board."  I will miss her and her friendship forever.   I love you, my friend Betty.   Peace Be With You.

Betty, was a very special person. I worked with her for 15 years. We had wonderful times together at UT. She loved her son and daughter-in-law. She was very proud of her grandson and granddaughter. I loved looking at their pictures she shared. I will miss you!

Betty was a special colleague at UTHSC.  My thoughts and prayers are with her family during this difficult time.   May God grant each of you comfort and peace.
