Barbara Louise Holley entered her eternal home October 16 at the age of 86. She grew up in Capleville, TN and attended Avon Lenox School. She is preceded in death by parents Zuma and Plumer Holley, brothers Hershel, Bobby, and Jackie Holley, sisters Katie Willodean Morrow and Elaine Stovall. She is survived by sister Janice Stovall of Bartlett, TN, niece Leanne Stewart of Atoka, TN, and a host of other nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved.
Barbara enjoyed singing and dancing. In 2022, at the age of 84, she attended her first ever prom at Memphis Joy Prom. She enjoyed every minute dancing the night away and had the honor of being crowned prom queen. She participated again in 2023, reminding us all we are never too old to seize the moment and make special memories.
Barbara touched so many lives and brought joy to everyone, including strangers. She could bring laughter to even the most difficult situations. She had an intellectual disability, but it is she who taught us all how to live.
Visitation will be Sunday, October 22, Memphis Funeral Home North Germantown Road from 1:00 – 2:00 with service following at 2:00. Graveside will be private. The family requests any memorials be sent to West Tennessee Family Solutions or Memphis Joy Prom.
