Barbara Jean Reiff Glidewell, age 84, of Arlington, Tennessee passed away peacefully at home on March 19, 2023 after a long illness. She was born December 19, 1938, the second child of Anna Clay Tate Pulliam. Barbara also had a loving stepfather, Robert (Bob) Pulliam.
Barbara graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1956. She worked as a teller at First Tennessee bank at Crosstown and later transferred to the Germantown branch where she retired in 1998. Barbara loved her family dearly and could never stop talking about how proud she was of her grandson, Coleman. Barbara gave generously of her time, talent and treasure throughout her life. She had a fervent dedication to her Catholic faith.
She had a great love for Elvis Presley whom she met at a young age. She met many of her dear friends through her travels with her daughter to Elvis festivals. Barbara loved life and was always ready to get out of the house whenever she could. Her travels with her family were memorable times for her.
Barbara is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Mickey Glidewell, and her sister, Carolyn Denegri.
She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Finkbeiner (Larry), her son, Ray Glidewell (Kristin), her only grandson, Coleman Glidewell, her nephews, David Denegri (Patti), Mark Denegri (Angela), Steven Denegri (Katrina), Mike Denegri (Heather) and several great nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Friday March 24th from 9:30-10:00 A.M. at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 8151 Chimneyrock Blvd, Cordova, TN 38016. A funeral mass will follow at 10:00 A.M. A reception will be held in the Parish Life Center. A Committal service to follow at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens.
