Barbara was born on October 16, 1929, in Marietta, Ohio, a daughter of the late Fred W. and Lillian (Bennett) Brower. She attended Kent State University before she married William Carl Dawson on September 23, 1950. They had four daughters. She was a stay-at-home mom until their daughters were in high school. At that time, Barbara became a realtor and subsequently a broker. Most of her professional career was with Crye-Leike Realtors in Bartlett, Tennessee. Barbara enjoyed sewing, reading, and dancing. She was always busy, loved to travel, enjoyed her real estate career and spent several years as a Girl Scout leader, taking many girls on their first camping trip.
Barbara is preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, William; her daughter, Patricia Dawson Eanes; two brothers; and one sister.
Surviving her are her children: Deborah (Joseph) Lujan of Hollister, California; Lisa (Robert) Kraft of Palm City, Florida; and Kelly (Walter) Murphy of Coraopolis, Pennsylvania; her grandchildren: Joshua Lujan of San Jose, California; Clay (Andi Crawford) Andrus of Memphis, Tennessee; Natalie Kraft of West Palm Beach, Florida; Nakoma (Michael) Johnson of Memphis, Tennessee; and David (Alicia) Murphy, Lane (Brittney) Murphy, and Seth Murphy, all of Pennsylvania. Barbara also leaves three great grandchildren.
