April Dawn Little Johnson

April Dawn Little Johnson was born April 26, 1968 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She was the third daughter of the late Harold Little and Gladys Little. April grew up with her sisters, Suzanne (Tom) and Lynda (Al) in Pittsburgh. She and her entire family love football, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers, “Go Steelers!!” After graduating from high school April attended CACC in Pittsburgh and earned her RN degree. April moved to Memphis in 1998. Her first and only job at Baptist Memorial Hospital was an I.C.U. nurse. April has, throughout her years of compassionate care often has been the last face her patient has seen this side of eternity, and often has been the caring face, helping her patients recover, from many life threatening situations. She decided as a young girl she wanted to be a nurse. April had to keep herself motivated on that path. Later she encouraged and motivated many young girls pursuing the same dream. April married Bruce Johnson April 12, 2003. Together, they had a wonderful journey-touching many lives and enjoying friends across a broad spectrum. April and Bruce became well known for their Cookie Christmases and the joy April brought into many lives. We love you, April, your caring, your love, your life will be missed by all. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, August 12, 2016 and a funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd, Bartlett, TN with a catered reception to follow services in the lounge of Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens.
