Anna was born in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas on December 2, 1932 the last of the four children born to the late Paul & Elizabeth Jewell Hathcoat. Anna graduated from Walnut Ridge High School where she was the Center and Captain for their women's basketball team.
Through the years, dressed in her hat & gloves, she had attended many Naval functions with her husband Gip. She would work periodically for The Gingerbread House, a little gift shop here in Bartlett and also in the Personnel Department for Sears Roebuck & Co.
Mrs. Gipson is a member of the Oliver Creek Church of Christ.
Also preceding her in death was her granddaughter Jennifer Lynn Gipson Bills.
Her memory lives on starting with her best friend and husband of 75 years Jack "Gip" Gipson; Jackie Gipson (Preston) Croft of Bartlett, Tennessee and Mike (Terry) Gipson of Lakeland, Tennessee; her grandchildren Jonas Croft, Josh (Erica) Croft, John (Laura) Croft, Amie (Kevin) Yates, Melissa (Mark) Simpson; great-grandchildren Madison (Xavier) Scott, Kate Croft, Carson Yates, Sophie Croft, Hannah Yates, Ella Croft, Emma Yates, Michael Simpson, Abby Simpson, Claire Simpson, Jacob Simpson, Hazel Simpson and Harrison Simpson.
A private burial for the family will occur in West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery.
