Alva “Joyce” Litton Mariencheck, 86, of Memphis, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, George T. “Buddy” Mariencheck , step-son, Tom Mariencheck and a sister, Emma Lee Richardson, all of Memphis, TN. Mrs. Mariencheck is survived by her children, Charles Dawson, Jr. (Wanda) of Whitsett, NC., Pamela Cooper (Greg) of Blue Springs, MS., Barbara Dawson of Memphis, TN., and Glenn Dawson of Tupelo, MS., two step-children, Joyce Klinck (Paul) of Blue Bell, PA., Gary Mariencheck (Michelle) of Maumelle, AR., 10 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and a niece, Brenda Streeter of Germantown, TN. Mrs. Mariencheck graduated from Treadwell High School and also from Phillips University. She was an elder and member at Decatur Trinity Christian Church and was a missionary in Congo, Africa. She retired as a teacher from Memphis City Schools. The family will receive friends and relatives on Monday, April 27 from 12-2pm with the funeral starting at 2pm at Decatur Trinity Christian Church, 2449 Altruria Rd, Memphis, TN. 38134. The burial will follow at Memorial Gardens.
