Ronald (Ron) Jay Mayberry Sr. was born on November 5, 1949 at Fort Riley Station Hospital in Kansas to his parents George Francis Mayberry and Elizabeth (Betty) Nadine Mayberry. He was a military brat along with his other siblings. He worked at Yellow Freight for 29 years and was a great example of a hard-working blue-collar worker/provider. He enjoyed working on his vehicles, flying his remote airplanes, playing his guitar with his buddies and fishing. He had a larger-than-life sense of humor, and wasn’t shy with how he demonstrated it; it didn’t matter where he was, he had no shame. Later on, in his life he sparked an interest with computers, and printers. He loved printing pictures of all his loved ones and family and putting the pictures all over his room. He loved old school movies, watching his Bonanza, Hawaii 5 O, and many other old western movies. He was an avid consumer of local restaurants in Barstow, his go to was Los Domingo’s. He loved all of his grandkids and wore his heart on his sleeve for them. His eyes would light up the room and smile warm their hearts. He was a kind and gentle Grandpa, Pops, Pape, and Pop-Pop.
