Bob was a volunteer for the Barstow Senior Nutrition program at the Barstow Senior Center for many years.  After he retired from volunteering, he was a frequent visitor for lunch.  You will be missed!

We are so sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. He was a positive force in so many ways. Our condolences to all the family knowing he will be missed.

During my first tour of duty at the Marine Corps Logistics Base in Barstow California, I had just arrived as Robert L. Cobb, (my father-in-law) was getting ready to retire, so I did not have the pleasure of working directly under him. I wish I had as I am sure he would have been a great boss. Robert was an amazing giving person, and like his sons always willing to help me when I needed it with his endless knowledge on cars and computers and anything else for that matter. It seemed as if he knew something about every topic.
After marrying his daughter Melissa, my relationship with him grew as did my awareness of what a kind and giving person he was. Robert was the first person that helped me when I was trying to alter the pegs on my motorcycle and allowed me to use his drill press. I was in awe of his garage with all his tools and thus started my obsession of getting my own tools.  As my career in the IT industry grew, I thought I would be on the same level playing field during my conversations with him. I was quickly proven wrong. He always kept up with the latest news in the IT industry and so was 10 steps ahead of me telling me about the latest computer gadgets he purchased. 
I will miss you.

Bob was loved by so many! He always looked out for his family and helped us when needed. He was such a blessing and beautiful light in my life. I loved him dearly and will miss him always.

My Dad was a kind soul that loved to spend time with us boys racing remote control cars or flying radio control planes every weekend. He was incredibly smart but wouldn’t lose his patience with someone that didn’t understand something. He was friendly with everyone. I will miss being able to call him for advice or to tell him about the new tool I got. We shared a lot of interests in life and he would always be excited for newest cool things. He was one of the guys. I am so proud to say he is my Dad.

I miss you, dad.  In the last week, me, Bobby, Jimmy and Brian would have received at least one group text from you opening with “good morning, Cobb crew.”  It hurts so much to know I will never get another one.
Spending countless hours working on our Ancestry isn’t fun anymore because now I don’t have you to share it with and knowing I could share it with you made it so much more exciting.  I promise to always remember you dad.  I’m going to always remember the feel of your hands as you held mine, and the way your whiskers felt.  I’m going to remember camping trips and yearly trips to Ohio to see family.  I’m going to remember how much you enjoyed a cup of black coffee.  I’ll remember going to work at the Marine Base and you picking me up and dropping me back off every day.  I’ll remember you waiting for me outside my building and walking hand-in-hand to your car.  And how you ALWAYS opened the door for me.  And I’ll remember how we laughed for years about the rumor going around the Base that “Bob Cobb had a young girlfriend.”  I’ll remember how you would finish building an airplane and want me to stop by to take a picture holding it next to the pool.  And how you proudly placed all those pictures under glass on your desk at work.  I’ll remember how much you loved saltine crackers and sardines and how shocked you were that I would decline an offer of one.  I’ll remember all the times I would travel home to Barstow, and you’d want me to have lunch at the Seniors with you, and how you would introduce me to everyone – “This is my daughter.”  I’ll remember my last visit home and the sweet things you said to me.  And I’ll remember a million other things.  You were such a good, decent and kind man and I am so honored that you were my dad.
I’ll miss you every day and will love you forever.  And I’ll always treasure your nickname for me.  I love you Dad,

He sure loved to fly his drones and remote airplanes.

Every time I’d look over at my grandpa, he’d be smiling.

Dear Frida and family,
I am so sorry for your loss.  I didn't know Bob very well but I know how much my parents liked and respected him.  I would love to be there to give you and Liz and her kids a big hug.  Unfortunately my body isn't cooperating with my plans.  I will be sending prayers to you all.  I know how much my nieces and nephew loved and admired Bob.
May you all find comfort in your memories and eachother.
