Michael John Thomas

Michael was born December 3, 1970 in Upland, CA and passed away February 15, 2024 in Barstow, CA. He is survived by his parents John and Beth (Mary) Thomas; his son Zachary Thomas (spouse Leah); his sister Cynthia Semmen (spouse Kent); his nieces Kendra Semmen Petresky (spouse Tyler), Chloe Semmen, Kara Semmen and Cambria Semmen; his nephews John Semmen and Jared Semmen; his uncles and aunts Steve Thomas, David Injerd (spouse Sharman), Raymond Injerd (spouse LeTaye), William Injerd (spouse Kathie) and Wesley Injerd (spouse Tomiko).

Michael turned a favorite life hobby into a very exciting and demanding career. His achievements included becoming a master diver instructor and ultimately as a commercial diver medic. He enjoyed working on the oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico and keeping all of his fellow divers as safe as possible. Later in life he worked in construction.

Michael had many friends, some dating as far back as his high school days. Those friends as well as his close family members celebrated his life at a memorial service held on February 17, 2024 in Barstow, CA. It was a fitting farewell in the Mojave Desert that Michael loved so much.
