Born and raised in California, Michael graduated from Ventura High School in Ventura, CA, in 1965. He later made Barstow his home, where he lived for 46 years and became a deeply respected and cherished member of the community.
Michael's life was defined by service, kindness, and unwavering dedication. For 34 years, he proudly served as a reserve deputy with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, selflessly giving his time and energy to protect and support others. His commitment to community service touched countless lives and left a legacy of integrity and compassion.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Carol; his son Steven (Norma) of McAllen, TX; his daughter Donna (Ted) of San Diego, CA; five grandchildren—Ryan, Allison, Amanda, Zachary, and Jack; and one great-grandchild, Nicholas. He also leaves behind five sisters—Pam, Diane, Denise, Annette, and Lisa; one brother, Charlie; and a large extended family and many dear friends across the country.
Michael will be remembered not only for his service but for his warmth, sense of humor, and generous spirit. He was a loyal friend, a loving family man, and a pillar of strength in the lives of those who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his memory to the S.E.A.T program (Sheriff’s Employees Assistance Team).
