Hector was born September 14, 1950, in Alamo, Texas to Vicente and Esperanza Reyes. He grew up in Fort Stockton and graduated in 1971. After graduating Hector enlisted in the Marines and traveled all over before being stationed in Barstow, California. Hector met his wife Josie in Fort Stockton, and they married in September of 1973. They went on to have two daughters and two sons.
Hector was a very loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Hector was a friend to all who met him and always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Hector is survived by his loving wife, Josie Reyes of Barstow, California, daughter Cilia (Mike) Collabolletta, son Miguel (Amanda) Reyes and son Robert Reyes all of Barstow, California. His four grandchildren, Cheyenne (Sean) Elmer of Spokane, Washington, Charles (Abby) Beason, Peityn Reyes and Maddisyn Reyes of Barstow, California, Michelle (Jesse) Collabolletta-Witte and ten great-grandchildren. Brother Javier (Jennifer) Reyes of Fort Stockton, brother Joe (Angelina) Reyes of Baytown, Texas, sister Angie (Wally) Rubio of Fort Stockton, Texas, sister Maria (Cecil) Brunson of Panama City, Florida, sister Elizabeth (Arturo) Ramos of Fort Stockton, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.
Hector was preceded in death by his parents, Vicente and Esperanza Reyes, daughter Ava Reyes, sisters Flora Franco and Elvira Rangel and brother Joel Reyes.
Memorial service will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 505 E. Mountain View St in Barstow, CA on Monday, November 25, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. Interment following the mass will be at Mt. View Cemetery 37067 Irwin Rd in Barstow CA. Celebration of Life following all services will be at Nooan Hall in 505 E. Mountain View St. in Barstow CA
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that a donation in Honor of Hector Reyes be made to City of Hope or St. Judes.
