It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gregory Paul Lodermeier, leaving his family and friends to mourn.
Predeceased by his parents Beatrice & Eugene Lodermeier, sister Judith Lee, & stepmother Hazel Lodermeier.
Survived by his daughter (The 1st love of his life) Brittney and his grandson (The 2nd love of his life) Cylus Paul. Surviving siblings Colleen Scanlon, David Lodermeier, Anne Monroe, Rita Hamann, William Lodermeier, Mary Thuerkoff, Lenore Zeimet, Neil Lodermeier, their spouses, nieces, nephews and many-many friends.
Paul never had a bad thing to say about anyone, always the first to jump in and help. Whether it was driving all the way to Lake Havasu to pick up an engine, install a new flag pole, fix a motorcycle in the middle of the night, broken down in literally BFE, pour concrete, remodel bathrooms, lay flooring, paint walls, fix irrigation, you name it. He may not have always "known" how to do these things but, he did each and everyone to the best of his ability. He did all of this with nothing but a "Thanks for your help" in return. He loved to help.
Paul was always up for a bike ride - day, night, it didn't matter. He proved this time and time again with many trips back home (Barstow, CA to Minneapolis, MN). He was a very proud member of the Iron Butt Club (Mexico to Canada in under 24 hours). He was a member of the American Legion Riders. The amount of miles he put on his bikes would impress many. You may remember him as SHREK if he was wearing his leathers or jean vest. You may have seen him in Sturgis, Minnesota, Idaho, Mexico, Arizona (Bike Week), Laughlin (River Run), and so many more places.
Paul was an AAV Shop Planner at MCLB. His fellow employees loved him and his work ethic. Even if that meant not being able to provide them their requested materials due to losing them. In the words of his right hand man Digger, "He saved the government so much money, you better not have parts before you ask for them".
Paul was a military vet. He served in the Army where he went to Germany and loved to share the stories of those times. He proudly flew the American and POW flag.
Paul enjoyed numerous activities darts, pool, fishing (and I mean FISHING), shooting (he loved his toys), fireworks, and so much more. He loved spending his 4th of July in Idaho with Brittney and Cylus. Probably one of the few times he splurged and went overboard every year with buying fireworks. You would think he was competing with the surrounding cities display.
If you had the pleasure of knowing Paul, you already know how honest, reliable, happy, funny, genuine, and caring he was. He may have looked rough on the edges but, he was the biggest teddy bear you ever met. He will be missed immensely and for eternity.
Fly high with the Angels, Ride on <3
I love you Daddy, Forever.
I'll be drinking Jack for you Dad.
At this time services are pending. If you would like to get in contact with Brittney please leave a memory with a way for me to get in contact with you. I will let everyone know when we will do a Celebration of life for one of the greatest men to ever live.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.meadcares.com for the Lodermeier family.
