Eduardo joined his wife Catherine on 9/30/20 to be with our Heavenly Father.
He was born in Jaralez New Mexico on January 9, 1937 to Ignacio and Lucinda Sanchez. He was raised in Jaralez; went to school there and quit school to go to work for Santa Fe Railroad all along the panhandle from New Mexico to Texas and Oklahoma. He arrived in Barstow on 12 October 1953; was hired at the Marine Corp. Logistic Base as a laborer; advanced to the position of Grounds Structure Foreman and retired after 40 years and 4 months.
He and his wife Catherine were married in El Paso Texas on December 12, 1953 and they had four children: Daughter Gloria, Son Eddie Jr and Twin Boys James and John.
He was preceded in death by his Wife Catherine, Sons James and John, Father Ignacio Sanchez, Mother Lucinda Sanchez, Brothers Frank and Danny Sanchez and Sister Sally Sanchez. He is survived by his Daughter Gloria K Sanchez, and Granddaughter Katrina Sanchez, Great Granddaughter Aniyah of Hesperia CA. And Son Eddie Sanchez and his wife Yvonne, Granddaughters Andrea, Jacquelyna, Crystal and Grandson Edward of Barstow, CA. Sister Lucy and her Husband Greg of Denver, CO. And Brother Ignacio Sanchez Jr, of Albuquerque, NM. as well as many Nephews and Nieces.
He was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus, council no 1830. He was also a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church where he attended Mass and helped in a ministry every Monday.
In his younger days Eduardo had many hobbies, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, trips to Las Vegas and other parts of Nevada and in his later years he settled to playing poker at Diamond Jim’s Casino in Rosamond, CA.
A Mass and celebration of Eduardo’s life will be held on 10/9/20 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Lenwood at 9:00am; burial will follow at Mt. View Park 37067 Irwin Road.
