Carlos was a wonderful father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother and true friend.
Carlos was born September 27, 1921 in Puruandiro, Michoacan to Francisco Tenorio and Esperanza Ortega Tenorio.
In 1946 he enlisted in the Bracero program and was assigned to work for the Railroad. He worked laying track from Cajon Pass and ended up in Winslow Arizona. It was in Winslow where he met and married his only love, Socorro "Cora" Ruiz Lemus. Socorro was his devoted wife until her passing in June of 2002. Carlos left the track department and transferred to the Winslow Roundhouse.
In 1948 he was laid off. His Supervisor asked him if he was willing to move to Barstow. Carlos was given a train pass and reported for work as a laborer and made Barstow his home. He worked side jobs to supplement his income. From mopping floors, digging trenches for plumbers, Plastering , and working as a Bouncer. After retirement he worked on his projects. He was never idle, always doing something for himself or for someone .
Carlos loved his family. As he aged, he was never alone ,always surrounded by the love of his children. Richard R, Lemus and spouse Rose, Hope Lemus Islas spouse Dave, all of Barstow. Maria Y, Juarez of San Bernardino. Frank R. Lemus of Lake Havasu City, Arizona and Joe Lemus and spouse, Veolada. of Kingman, Arizona. Carlos had many grand, great, and great-great grand children who always enjoyed being around him, especially on his birthday. He would have been 100 years old this September. Carlos passed peacefully at home surrounded by his children.
Carlos now is with his love, Socorro, and together can hold in their arms their two sons,
Charles R. Lemus and Luis R. Lemus who were called to heaven before him.
Carlos was the oldest of eight children, Francisco Tenorio (deceased), Salvador Tenorio (deceased), Demetrio Tenorio (deceased), Trino Tenorio (deceased), Lupita Gallardo Tenorio,
Miguel Tenorio (deceased) and Carlos Martinez, all from Mexico.
Carlos will be deeply missed by his Children, many grand, great, great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and close friends. Rest In Peace Pop.
