Barbara was married to Mr. Abilio G. Baca for 49 years until his passing away in July of 2000. Mrs. Barbara Baca, also known as "Mrs. B", raised six children - Sabra Marano - Husband Joe, Mary Arreola - Husband Jose, Ricky Baca (Deceased Feb. 2014) - Wife Brenda, Patsy Baca, Ronni Baca - Wife Carie, Brenda Guerrero - Husband Jerry.
Barbara has 13 Grandchildren and 17 Great-Grandchildren. Barbara and her husband started to build their family and home in 1954. Sabra being the first child in their new home was followed by Mary, Ricky, Patsy, Ronnie, and Brenda, the Baca Family. Barbara enjoyed watching her family grow and enjoyed every precious moment. Our Mom enjoyed every Birthday, which she never missed, and their special occasion. Barbara was always there to support her children in any sports any graduation or retirement. Barbara raised her children to be respectful and always count our blessings. Mom considered us to be "La Familia", which she kept close in her heart. Our Mom loved us all equally and knew the entire Baca Family loved her dearly. Our Mom always looked forward to Easter as we hid Easter Eggs. Thanksgiving as she prepared all the wonderful New Mexico foods. Christmas time was the most memorable holiday for our mom. Every year on Christmas, she would have all her kids decorate her house with Christmas decorations. She was so happy to see the entire family together and enjoy the food, presents and watching Santa pass out gifts to all the grandkids. Different members of our family played Christmas Santa. Mom hired a Santa to come on Christmas Eve if no one was available, to make sure all the grandkids enjoyed having Santa stop by the Baca house. One of our mom's favorite sayings was "Mi Casa es Tu Casa", ("My house is your house") she always welcomed everyone and enjoyed the beautiful memories. One of Barbara's favorite things to do was manage the Mt. Saint Joseph's Bingo for over 40 years. She would have some of her children help with the Bingo, which we enjoyed doing for our mom. Barbara met and had many friends from all her years of doing Bingo that are still her friends today. Her Bingo friends saw Barbara as caring, and loving. They greeted her with the name "Mama" when they arrived to Bingo. Mrs. Baca was dedicated to her church and loved serving her church and community with her running Mt. Saint Joseph's Bingo. We are sure Barbara will be lovingly missed and always in our Hearts. Have comfort knowing that she is safely in God's arms and at her Heavenly Home.
