It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Steve Malonik of Barrhead, Alberta on May 8th 2021 at the age of 104. Left to mourn his loss are his loving family, son; George of Rich Valley, Alberta, daughter; Verna Standeven of Glenevis, Alberta, 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren numerous other family and friends. Steve is predeceased by his wife; Pauline, son; Roger, and his grandson; Vernon.
Steve met Pauline while working on her family farm during harvest time, he came to be very well liked by her family and they married in 1940. They later raised 3 children, all of whom were born in the Beverly district of Edmonton. During his younger years, Steve worked in coal mines, some construction jobs, and spent several years at Griesbach Barracks Army Camp in Edmonton doing labour work. In 1957, he moved the family to Rich Valley where he began a small farming operation, Steve resided on the farm up until his final years at Shepherd’s Care in Barrhead, Alberta.
A private service was held in Barrhead, Ab, with Burial to follow in Edmonton, Ab.
