Lillian Ena Linda Wallis

She will be forever remembered by her sons Reg (Holly) and Ron, of Fort Assiniboine, AB, and her daughters Lorie (Ron) Thibodeau of Ottawa, ON and Ruby of Calgary, AB, as well as her seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Lil was predeceased by her husband Dawn in 1977.

A keen mind for numbers, she worked as a bookkeeper for her sons’ company for over 40 years, and volunteered her time and knowledge to various organizations within her community. An avid gardener, Lil’s family, friends and neighbours rarely left her home empty handed, and even strangers would find themselves the recipient of fruit or vegetables from her garden. She always had a special treat on hand for when her grandchildren and great grandchildren came to visit, and her most cherished memories were of time spent with her family.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to all the medical staff at the Barrhead Hospital for their kind and compassionate care.

In keeping with her wishes, a private memorial service will be held at the Rose Garden Chapel in Barrhead, with a community lunch to follow at the Fort Assiniboine Legion, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to the Hillcrest Cemetery in Fort Assiniboine, or to the Barrhead Hospital towards the purchase of new medical equipment.
