Karen Marie Romeo

Our family sadly announces the passing of our mother and grandmother, Karen Romeo of Barrhead, AB, formerly of Sangudo, AB on Tuesday, March 25, 2013 at the age of 92 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Marla (Joe) Bakos of Barrhead, AB, Daryll (Diane) of Drumheller, AB, and Cathy (Mike) Hall of Sangudo, AB; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family, and friends who she cherished deeply. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert (Bob) in 2002; her parents, John and Marie; four sisters, Hilda, Emma, Betty, Audrey, and their spouses. Karen was the last surviving member of the Blessum and Romeo families. Karen was born in Stavely, AB and moved north to the Moose Wallow area with her family in 1935. She married Bob Romeo of Peavine, AB in 1943 and there they raised their family. They retired to Sangudo in 1973 and later to Barrhead in 1999. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, April 8, 2013 at 1:30 pm at the Barrhead United Church. Interment will be held at a later date.
