Charles always had a smile on his face, was very easy going and always had a positive outlook on life.  He was a great friend to Dad for their entire lives.  He will be missed.

Uncle Charles was a special person who brought laughter wherever he went.  I am grateful to my Mum and Dad that they chose Berenice and Charles as my Godparents because I knew I was in caring hands.  I will miss my Uncle Charles very much.

When I think of Uncle Charles, I think of someone who wanted you to laugh--I think he felt it was his job to be cheerful and upbeat and make everyone else feel that way too!  If you asked him how he was, he usually replied "Fine as frog's hair"--there was no sense to that so you had to smile!!

Sorry Uncle that things didn't turn out the way any of us wanted!!

Grabler family, My deepest condolences on the loss of such a kind and wonderful man. I was lucky enough to have Charlie (as us bus kids called him) as my bus driver all through high school in the 90’s. But he wasn’t just a bus driver. He was a friend, he was a friendly face who was always happy to see you in the morning and a kind and understanding ear on the way home. He was the only bus driver with wired in speakers playing us country music to listen to and was so concerned when there was a bear waiting at my stop. We always knew we were safe in Charlie’s care and would have a fun ride along the way. I am so sorry for your families loss and am so grateful I have so many wonderful memories of my bus years thanks to Charlie. 

So very sorry for your loss.  I know how much he meant to you all.

Charlie was one of the best neighbors  you could ask for. Had alot of laughs and good times with the family. Charlie  was always there when you needed  him, especially  when we would leave and he would do our chores. Charlie I hope your still looking after Babe in heaven.

My heart is breaking. Charles meant so much to me growing up. He was my bus driver from Kindergarten all the way till grade 12, but he was more than that. He was my friend. He truly cared about the kids in his charge, and I remember many days of just chatting with him. I will never forget his "how's your belly where the chicken pecked ya" joke!

He and other neighbors with teams of horses helped thresh grain at my Dad and Mom.s  farm with Butch his dad who had the threshing machine.....
