Tressie Smith

Mrs. Tressie Smith age 86 of Bimble, KY departed this life on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at her home. She was the daughter of Tip and Linda Callihan Mills born to them on July 31, 1929 in Knox Co. On October 28, 1944 she united in marriage with Wayne Smith and to this union seven children were born. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and a member of the Beech Springs Holiness Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband along with three brothers and two sisters, Laura Mae Townsley and Vernece Woolum and one grandchild, Willard Smith, Jr.

Left behind to mourn her passing, five sons, Charles Edward Smith and wife Joyce of London, KY, John A. Smith and wife Vivian of Flat Lick, Wayne Junior Smith and wife Lou Ann also of Flat Lick, Cleveland Smith and wife Mildred of Bimble and Michael Smith of Bimble, two daughters, Mae Hammons and husband Robert Edward of Bimble and Vernece Smith of Barbourville and one brother Cleveland Mills of Flat Lick. She also leaves behind sixteen grandchildren and over twenty great grandchildren along with many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Tressie Smith will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at 12:00 noon with Rev. Charles Bright and Rev. Michael Wagers officiating. Pallbearers will be family & friends. Burial will follow in the Hinkle Branch Cemetery. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.

Friends will be received at the Hampton Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 12:00 noon.
