Smith Ken

Ken Smith age 27 of Smith Creek Rd., Flat Lick, departed this life on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at the Knox Co. Hospital. He was the son of Colonel & Doris Smith born to them on September 12, 1986. Ken worked at Walmart in Barbourville for the past seven years. He enjoyed deer hunting, playing video games, riding his razr, playing with his niece and nephews and also spending time with Tara and her son Luke. Ken believed in the baptist faith and attended church at Mills Missionary Baptist. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Lloyd & Ruby Smith and Viola and Victor Mills.

Left behind to mourn his passing is his parents, Colonel & Doris Smith of Flat Lick, three sisters, Melissa Ward and husband Michael of Hinkle, Linda Smith and husband Eric of Woolum and Brenda Broughton and husband Keith of Barbourville, his girlfriend Tara and her son Luke, his niece and nephews, Abigail Ward, Austin Ward and Braxton Broughton. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles and other family and friends.

Funeral services for Ken Smith will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, January 26, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Herman Mills, Rev. Jerry Smith and Rev. Charles Carnes officiating. Pallbearers will be, Michael Ward, Eric Smith, Keith Broughton, Chris Smith, Adam Smith, John Mills, Josh Mills, Daniel Hibbard, Colby Felts, Mike Hammons, Tony Lacefield, Rick Smith and Brandon Carnes. Honorary pallbearers will be all Walmart associates. Ken will be laid to rest in the Smith family cemetery near his home. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.

Friends will be received at the Hampton Funeral Home on Friday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m., on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
