He is the son of Evelyn Carrubba and the late Harold Russell “Buddy” Helms.
Tommy was a loving and caring son, brother, brother-in-law, nephew, uncle, cousin, and friend to so many.
He enjoyed an avid interest in, and love for, the aviation industry and flying.
He had a passion for history, especially the World War II era, and he held the highest regard for all who serve our country in the military.
Old movies, jazz and big band music were also favorites that Tommy enjoyed.
Tommy was an accomplished musician and drummer. He played in several local bands including B’more Blues, City Star, Felix, Soul Messengers, Step’n Blues, The Count Downs, and The Nomads.
He was employed by Carroll Independent Fuel where he proudly worked with a strong work ethic that was a part of his way of life.
Tommy is survived, and loved deeply, by his mother Evelyn Carrubba, sister Carla Helms Tritapoe, and brother-in-law, Bob Tritapoe all of Middletown, MD; his aunt Jean Spellacy, Burlington, NJ, nephew, Christopher Tritapoe, Hagerstown, MD, nieces Nicole Maggio, Falling Waters, WV, Brittany Tritapoe and boyfriend Eric Shereika, Frederick, MD, cousins Bev Casey and husband Jeff and family, Berry Fisher and wife Sally and family, Scott Spellacy and wife Debbie and family, Shawn Spellacy and wife Jamie and family, and Steve Spellacy. Tommy is a Great Uncle to Jaron and Rylan Swartz, and a devoted, close friend to so many.
Tommy lived respecting and cherishing the relationships that he had with his family and friends. He was most happy when he had the chance to visit and talk with people. He always brought something positive to each life that he touched.
You are gone from our lives, but never from our hearts and memories. Love you forever. God Bless you Tommy.
