Happy Father's Day. Love and Miss you each day.

It's been almost a year - though the memories are sweet the passing time is unbearable.  I keep your picture close by so that when my tears rain down I look to your smile to heal my pain.  I need to know that you are always close and you can read my heart the way you always have.  The simple smile and your "lazy eye" wink always told me that my feelings were understood.  You were careful not to ask or say too much, but somehow you always made it clear that things would soon be better.  You understood me and I understood you.  After almost a year, I've missed you on your birthday and all the holidays.  But somehow you have left me with the message that I'll be okay until I see you again.  Father's Day is going to be the hardest holiday I think.  Thanks for watching over me and letting me know that it'll be okay. I LOVE YOU WITH EVERY OUNCE OF MY BEING ... but you knew that, didn't you?

Miss you soooo much, words cant even begin to describe how much I do. growing up u were there for me. Drove me to school, taught me how to dive, taught me how to drive, took me on vacations, took us skating, and allowed me to experience ur "left-over omlets".  So as time whent on and u need anything I was capable of giving I didnt mind.  Whether it was getting you water, taking out the trash, house work, or just sitting with you watching Lost or a movie, its the least I could do to repay you for all the years of love and talks you had given me. I would never be able to even walk a half a mile in your shoes, my foot would never fit, u were a great person, and im glad i have these precious memories of our talks, inside jokes,and football games.  I'll never forget the times you came and visited me at St. Vincents, and our trips to Deep Creek Lake and OC.  I love you so much, Dadaroo!

I think of the upcoming holidays, and although in recent years we couldn't get you to come out, I'll miss coming to you and spending time. You always thought it was a burden on us, but it truly was what we wanted . . . just to spend time with you at the holidays - just to see you smile.

I was blessed when you came into my life and life is not the same without you.  But, you taught me a lot, like always keep a song in your heart, and never lose your sense of humor - you taught me the meaning of honesty, kindness, patience, and what it means to be a "real" family.  That it doesn't necessarily mean you share the same blood.  But, family is the most important part of our lives. I just want you to know how lucky I am to call you my "real DAD."

You were always there for me, Dad.  And, I was glad to be there for you. I will love you forever and cherish the lifetime that we shared.  Someday we will be together again.  But, until then I will hold tightly to the happy memories of the songs that you sang, the smile that you shared, and the wonderful guidance that you gave me as I grew.
