Dad  it’s been 11 years that you have been gone .. I miss you so much , every year that passes I still get that same sick feeling  I did the day God took you home … it will never be the same… I know you are finally at peace with the love of your life beside you..     It’s gonna be a rough one this year, not that it hasn’t been a rough one since 2012. But now you have the love of your life with you and I know you’re finally really at peace oh this will be the first Christmas without Mom also, I did the best I could honoring your wishes taking care of her I feel so broken this year things just aren’t the same anymore , but one thing is for certain is that I miss you and I miss Mom terribly I cannot even get into the spirit of Christmas both of your favorite holiday. Hey Nick,I was driving to work last week & listening to the radio. Willie Nelson was singing "All of Me," & I immediately thought of Joey & Hamilton Post...what great memories I have of those days. I couldn't help smiling but honestly there were tears in my eyes because I thought of you. Remember how we would jitterbug to Chuck Berry's "Johnny Be Good?" Boy could you jitterbug! Those memories warmed my heart, & I felt good all day.

Happy 77th Dad, I wish we could be with you on this day. I was just thinking about all the birthdays celebrated at my house on Sundays. One of the most special weeks of birthdays is this one. You, Nicky, Mom and Tony all share this week. We would all come to my house for dinner, gifts and CAKE! Mom would make homemade raviolis for THIS day! I don't think she's ready to try her hand at making them again. It's just me... Three little words you used to say so much

Happy New Year's Eve Dad....We really weren't going to do anything, just don't have the energy to celebrate much, but Nicky called today and said he feels you would want us together. So........we are all going over Val and Tony's to try and bring in a new year and begin to journey our new lives without you. You used to love getting some shrimp, having mom steam some and Jimmy steam others. Mom always said Jimmy couldn't steam a shrimp right!! lol,,,Well, you never judged, you just ate them. You loved the big ones mom would buy and eat them like a shrimp cocktail. Jimmy's were smaller/more like hors de ouvres for ya! Have to tell ya, Jimmy steamed some big ones tonight and even eye said,,WOW,,MY DAD WOULD LOVE THESE!! We're going to try and give the kids an evening to have some fun, bang some pots and pans, and kiss each other at midnight! We used to have some good fun parties at my house, wait for midnight countdown, grab all my pots, pans and big spoons to bring in a new year. All of us would stand on the front porch for the evening's picture! Then Jimmy would have us come in and play games,,,oh my,,,find the money,,,open gifts with gloves on,,,pencil in a bottle,,,Pictionary (all stick figures),,but,,,,,,,how WE LAUGHED SO HARD IT WOULD HURT! We miss you very much. We'll shuck an oyster or two for you, slurp them down with some cocktail sauce, and toast you 2014!! Pass on our good wishes to Leonard, Sylvia, and all the rest of our family and friends that's surely celebrating without us. With all that group, you are surely being treated to some gooooooooood food and fun. Hugs, love ya, miss you, a kiss for all!!! Happy 2014 for you dad, a little sad for us, we will do ok!!

GONE TOO SOON...how many times that thought crossed my mind this past year. Nick, not a day goes by that I don't think of you & all our brothers & sisters who have left us in such a short space of time. Joey, Slow Boat,the singer; Lena who made the best Italian cookies; Rosie, for all her problems was such a nice person, & I loved her peanut butter candy & gnocchi; Mary who had a lot of class & was such a good family person; Frankie, Mr. Dreamboat; & you, Mr. Goofball..always joking. My only consolation through all this loss is the memories I have of growing up in a big, warm, loving family with a mother who always made us laugh & a father who was so generous to me & my friends when we were in the store. I remember as a kid helping mom make ravioli for you because that is what you always requested for your birthday meal..& you got anything you wanted from her. 
There are holes in my heart that will never be filled. Anyone who has lost a sibling will understand this statement. I thank God for all of you, & I know one day Andrew, Teresa & I will join you & mom & pop & we will be a family again. All my love now & forever. Catherine

Dad, right now I'm having a coffee and thinking back over this year and what it has been like without you. I'm sure you know, I'm sure you hear me all the times I talk to you outloud and think of you silently. It brings so many feelings out, some happy (with tears), some sad (with puddles of tears). I have asked the "family" to please come on here to write what it has been like for them too. I hope they do! Right now Christmas music has been playing, I've done everything to try to sing a song, listen to songs, and all I feel empty! Today is your 365th day away from us. At this very moment, Nicky and I were down Burgees to make arrangements for your final farewell. Throughout this entire week, I've relived each date. I believe you called us all to Mercy ER on Wednesday 12/18/2013, (the same date to the day you decided to leave Mercy, go back to Keswick, see mommy for one last time). Watching a baseball game, football game or just everyday things with everyone here is so heartbreaking without you. I watch the babies (as you often called the grandchildren/greatgrandchild) achieve some of their goals, work harder for other goals, and just simply move forward. Getting through these days are so hard, especially at this time of the season. A few of us wish it would go by fast, but I know what you would say,,,,"HEY, IT'S FOR THOSE BABIES, MAKE IT GOOD FOR THEM"! and "VICI, GIANT HAS TURKEYs ON SALE"! You always had a "chair" at my house for many Sunday meals (amongst any other time you would stop in), it remained empty, Dominic and Nicky have sat in that seat and I have been honored to have them sit there. My heart stopped the first time Dom asked if he could sit in Pops chair? I looked at him and said Pop would say it's "ok", then Nicky was the next. I know you are always watching over us, I'm sure there are times you shake your head in disbelief of the way some things are handled, but we are who we are, and many out there always thought that our family was awesome!! (if they only knew huh? lol) There wasn't A PLACE one of us went that you would say,,HEY, CALL YOUR MOTHER, CALL YOUR SISTER, CALL YOUR BROTHER,,see if they want to go or need anything!! I miss getting together and you saying: "PICK US UP"! Shopping right now you say: "AS YOUR MOTHER", "WHERE YOU GOING? PICK ME UP BREAD, MILK, SODA, etc..whatever..."or, "HEY DOCTOR APPT ON FRIDAY, WHERE WE GONNA EAT, STOP AT BANK, GO TO DOLLAR STORE",,,,Oh my,how I never cared that you called everyday, and how I miss it so much. You are so missed in many ways, I know you are happy, healthier, and just waiting for us to get together AGAIN. Say "HELLO, AND MERRY CHRISTMAS" to all your friends and family on the REAL "GODS GREEN ACRES in HEAVEN"!

1 year ago today 12-21-12 the sky opened up, and God took one of the most important men in my life home to Heaven, they predicted that on that day the world was gonna end. Well it did in in my family, a man so dedicated to his wife and children was gone. Dad taught me so much growing up, except how to live without him, there is not a single day that he doesn't cross my mind, and there is not a single moment that we don't miss him. I know you are smiling down on us, but I really wish you were here laughing out loud with me. We  and miss you very much.

Just cant get you out of my mind, it has been a terrible week for us, I know you and Leonard were waiting for Sylvia and I am pretty sure you both welcomed her with opened arms..it has been very hard on all of us losing the ones we love down here but like Fr Kim said you are all in a better place and are at peace, I can not even imagine how beautiful Heaven must be, but with my own selfishness I would rather have you all back here with us. Please help us through this sorrow, we are very sad not having you guys with us, I know you all will watch over us, but its just not the same...hugs and kisses to you all...we miss you very much <3

Well, Advent begins today, the season to prepare for the coming of the precious Baby Jesus.  As usual, the first ones on my mind are all of you (also precious) who know His glory.  How glorious it must be in Heaven at Christmas.  It's not nearly the same here, much because of the many empty places in our homes.  But always know our hearts are over-capacity with you, your presence and your love.  I celebrate your prefection in Heaven and the joys you know - there's no sorrow there - because you know and live what we hold on to:  the hope that is in our Savior.  Every day in my prayers I call your name along with Mom, Dad, Wilma, Joyce, Randy ...... on & on. Come to our hearts, Lord Jesus, there's room in our hearts for You.

Hey, it's me! You know, Vici. Yesterday turned out pretty good. I think you had a hand in helping me make that stuffing just like mommy. As I sat cutting the gizzards, I looked down at my hand and wondered,"how the heck did my dad do this with his hands so big", then I swore somewhere in my head I heard you say: "doing good". I continued on, thinking a lot of you. Our table was full with family and food, but it sure missed you. Courtney, Jim and I sat while the turkey was cooking talking about how our thoughts shifted to how preparations began on Thanksgiving. Looking out of my front window, picturing you carrying the big roasting pan with the largest turkey we could find, mom carrying pots/pans/cooking utensils, bullion cubes (she always thought I would forget something to make that perfect dressing). The night before my kids took on the tradition of breaking the bread, Dom would make his homemade pumpkin pies. Parade early in the morning, you/Jimmy would hit the track! We needed those $300.00 pies, and one would go to Uncle Joe with plate of fixins. So many are gone, so much tradition has now changed, but memories are fantastic. I sit here typing with tears in my eyes, my heart aching, my ears listening to some Christmas music, and WISHING SO HARD to know you are helping us get through this. Another friend of yours is heading your way, Bunky Scelsi. He couldn't hold on any longer. Their hearts are heavy as so many of us down here are. Missing so many. You will NEVER be forgotten, you will ALWAYS be included in our days. O Holy Night is playing right now. I can hardly type. I will end for now...miss you,,love you,,,I pray you are peaceful and smile knowing we all will someday share another day together. I look forward to it, but I need to be here for a little longer...:(

As Valerie has said, holidays are coming. In the back of our minds, we know what we will need to do to get through these holidays without you. Christmas was one of your favorites and one of your worse! Your favorite getting together for a big Christmas Eve dinner and the little ones exchanging gifts, family and friends laughing. Your worse when all the bills came in from mom shopping! lol It's hard for me to think of what this holiday will be like, I am constantly remembering back to what we were doing last year. Mom, me, Val & Alexandra went to a memorial service @ Keswick for all that have passed on in the past year. The opening song "Amazing Grace"....whoever can hear/sing that song without tears? Mom was remembering last year when you and her attended one. She said, a family in front of you had a few things to say, in remembrance of their family member that passed. Mom said as the minister came around shaking hands, he leaned to you and asked why you were crying? She said you just shook your head and could not even speak. I know being back there reminded mom of your many days being a patient. We walked through the hall, as she would say "this is where we would come everyday", "this is where we would sit outside", "this was your favorite spot"! Fond memories, but painful too. She misses you very much. We miss you terribly. Some days are tolerable, most days are somber. We all have our meltdowns, and fortunately we find ways to come out of it. The grandchildren think and talk about you all the time. They were blessed to have you so close to them. Not everyone can say that. We will try our best to make it good for our family. We will have to try very hard. I still leave a light on for you, if you ever need to find your way to us! Love you, from all of us

With the holidays coming up Dad, I just don't know how I am going to be able to deal with it, last year was such a blurr a numbing an unknowing, this year will be very hard for all of Us to try to have anything  knowing you are not here to enjoy it like you always did....You loved breakfast @ Vici's on Christmas morning and the Big dinner on Christmas Eve, then it was off to church, even if we didn't go all year you made sure We all went on Christmas Eve, my Holiday party between 12/25 and 1/1  it reminded you of your MamMaws, such a small house but filled with plenty of laughter and love and mostly your friends and all the neighbors, and riding up Nickys and then coming to your house Christmas night watching All the kids opening their gifts, that you never knew what they were, but you used to say "JC that woman can shop (Mom)...but you never knew how much she spent but, it didn't matter as long as your family was happy...I would love one more day, heck I'll take a minute to tell you what a great Man you really are, for you gave up everything for your family (professional Ball career)....I love you Dad when they say your Father was a good man, I tell them no ....you were the Best..walk beside me Dad and help me thru these next few weeks its gonna be tough ones. <3

Just wanting to let you know that I miss you so much, and I love you with all my heart, things just aren't the same without you here, its been rough but I really haven't had my time to mourn you, even though I think about you everyday and either laugh or cry when I am, .....I love ya Dad, and as promised we are taking care of Mom.

I never know where to begin. It's 11 pm, I swear I must have mentioned you a gazillion times in the last 24 hrs. I just received a picture text from Valeri. It was JBird and Tony fast asleep and she is wide awake. I'm sure she is thinking of you too. Everywhere I go, holiday stuff is all around. In every store, on TV, even in thoughts. Not sure how we are going to handle it. Last year we went through all the motions, but numbness was all around us. I remember the night me and mom were sitting with you down Mercy, it was "black Friday", biggest shopping day of the year. You asked mom what she got all those babies. You said, "Mar, don't worry about the big ones, just make a good Christmas for those babies"! You named each and every one of them in age order beginning with my Courtney, then Dominic, Harlie, Alexandra, Nicholas and JBird. She told you what she had bought them, you were pleased with her gifts to give. You left us just 4 days before Christmas. It was so hard on us not have you and mom with us. Mom was still at Keswick. This year, we will try to get through it again. Going to be very difficult. I know you would want us to do the best we could for "those babies"! You ARE SO MISSED! Love ya dad

Hey Dad, I don't know how to even say Happy Father's Day, but I feel I need too. I stared at your pictures today and it still doesn't feel right. I am having troubles trying to accept you are no longer with us. I've driven past University, Mercy, Keswick and feel like I've ignored you. Once coming home from your home, I actually drove into Keswick's driveway. I just needed to park in the back and sit for a few. Our guys are doing a great job holding down the forts (as you would say). They had great role models in you, Leonard and Tom. I know you three are watching over them, helping them to do the best job for all of us. We do our best, because we had the best! Love you, miss you terribly.

Hey pop, just wanted to say that i was reading your memory book today and it was really hard for me. i have been spending the night at aunt Vals house with Jeremy, Val, and Grandmom. Nicholas made it into the all stars AGAIN and he will be playing the all star gsme on friday. Now that he has mooved up a age levle he is going to have tourdements now. Those words that moment meant the world to me.. I pray everyday that this wasn't real and you were coming home... Nothing is the same anymore.  Everything makes me think of you... One month to go pop .. I know you're walking with me in spirit.. I love you and miss you so much ... We all miss you more than words can describe.

Its been almost 4 months, I feel as if this is my way of talking to you, We miss you very much, and it just isnt real, I guess it will never be, I love you Daddy and every day is just a little more empty since you been gone <3

You know what brought you to the forefront of my mind today?  A sweet memory came to me of Daddy getting the rods and reels ready for the shore- summer's coming.  You guys need to catch us some crabs.  So many years since Daddy's gone (36 but who's counting..) then Mommy (13), Wilma & Donnie,you and countless others; and I HATE letting go.  I hope we who are left behind can remember that part of your blessed peace in Heaven is that you DO know the love that stays all around you; I think of you as being far, far away, like just in another city, and we'll be meeting up with you soon.  We went to celebrate with our Super Bowl Champions today @ M & T, it was a bittersweet day...so excited and happy for the Ravens, yet so sad and heavy hearted just wanting you and Leonard to be here to see it, you both would have been as proud as Tony and I, it was a lil rough trying to smile with tears in our eyes, but we know you were there in spirit, missing you both very much...<3

Hey pop we did it..: Ravens are coming home #1.. I know we had extra help from above. Last week we went and had dinner with grandma and she let me have a sweat shirt of yours. When I saw the pile of shirts sitting on the dresser I couldn't even bring myself to look through them. I grabbed the first one off the top and walked quickly downstairs before grandma could see my face.. Uncontrollable tears and shaking hands held your Rvens shirt so tightly.   I have worn it every night since I brought it home. I can't bear to let it sit anywhere else except where I can see it. I feel like I have you home.  I know you're with me... I cry soon as someone talks about you or brings you up in conversation.  We all miss you so much and this is so hard on everyone still.  We are strong and staying together like always. But honestly I feel like we are all trying so much harder for you.   I hope my prayers are reaching my pop's... I never realized how much it meant to me to have my grandfathers.  I cried so hard going through cards and I came across Father's Day cards I bough for you and pop pop and never had mailed.  Out loud I said "what do I do now.  I have no grandfathers to give these too". I just wish I appreciated my time with you both more.

  We did it the Ravens won the Superbowl!!!..I know you would have been right here cheering them on with me, there isnt a day that goes by that I do not miss you, and its these times that really hurt my heart the most!.I love ya Dad, I am always ready to pick up that phone and call you, then it hits me, its just not real.

Last night we surprised mommy with some subs and dessert. The brainstorm of Jimmy. No matter how many days go by, sitting at that kitchen table will never be the same. All the chairs were filled, but our hearts felt empty. I know you would have chowed down on a sub with us. There are so many things that we do, things we took for granted, who would have ever thought we would have to do them without you. Mommy is doing ok! Alot she needs to get through, but she is strong. She is doing them because you did them. It's been a month, feels like yesterday. I don't know how it gets easier, but (they) say it does. Miss you,love you and think of you everyday. I know that never ends!

hey Dad, its been a lil over a month, and most of January has past, the worst was the 18th when OUR bday was spent without you,  and secondly was the 23rd when mommy spent hers without you,anyway..all is under control as you wished, so rest easy,Nickyk IV and Harlie always bring you up and have fun remembering things you'd say and do, Laura just shakes her head and cries, just know mommy's ok and the rest of us really miss you. Harlie stayed home from school today and I told her you would say "it's okay,I wouldnt go either!" Miss you phone calls and hearing you say "Its just me", you always under~estimated your self    LOVE YA MUCH
