On December 31, 2022, MARY FRANCES HEYN, nee Nickols, daughter of the late Anna and Henry Nickols, survived by her son, Michael Hill; daughters Catherine Reynolds and Peggy Devan; sister Joan Canapp; daughter-in-law Stacy Fisher Hill; son-in-law Edward Devan Jr.; grandchildren Michael Hill Jr., Michael and Ashley Reynolds, Edward and James Devan, Madalyn and Andrew Fisher; niece and nephew Tammy and Jeffrey Cook; and five great-grandchildren. Predeceased by sister Margaret Cook and former husband Marlin Heyn. Private service and interment at Loudon Park. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Mary will be remembered as the hardworking, generous, and proud head of her family, who brought her special gift of wit and laughter to everyone she met. She loved nature and all God’s creatures, solving a good crime mystery, a big breakfast, and Christmas.
Through the years, she enjoyed hosting holiday celebrations with lots of food and gifts; traveling with her sister to see whales and other wildlife; and tending to her pets, outdoor critters, and small gardens.
Remembrance can be made to Alzheimer’s Association, Maryland Chapter, 502 Washington Avenue, Suite 300, Towson, MD 21204.
